If you find yourself in Tembisa and a craving for something strong hits you, Liquor Legends is a spot that might just tickle your fancy. Nestled on Brian Mazibuko E, this liquor store has been around since June 2013, thanks to the trio of Demetri Pantoleon, Helder Ferradaz, and Mike Pombo. These guys have over 15 years of experience in the liquor game; they’ve seen it all, from counter trade shops to wholesale distribution. They’ve kinda got the whole scene covered.
When I popped in, I noticed the shelves were stocked with a pretty decent selection. Whether you’re on the hunt for a classic gin or something a bit more exotic, it seems they’ve got options to satisfy most tastes. The vibe is relaxed—like you’re just chatting with an old buddy who happens to know a lot about booze.
Interestingly, despite its solid offering, it’s got a mixed rating of 3.0 outta 5. I guess that says a bit about the experience. Perhaps, a tad more customer service polish could elevate things. Still, I couldn’t help but appreciate the overall atmosphere. Plus, they’re open daily—weekdays until 8 PM, and even on Sunday mornings.
