Nestled on Calderbank Ave in Potchefstroom, River Café feels like that cozy spot you didn’t know you needed. Overlooking the dam, it’s got this chill vibe that just begs you to kick back, sip a cocktail, and watch the sunset. Seriously, the cocktails? Must-try. The crowd’s mostly friendly too, which totally adds to the experience.
Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Some folks have had their patience tested with slow service. I mean, who loves waiting forever for a pizza? But when it’s good, oh boy, it hits the spot! The pizzas, especially the lamb with dried apricot, have been raved about.
And if you’re into outdoor seating, you’re in for a treat. Plenty of space to chill outside, which is perfect for summer days. Plus, they’ve got a decent drinks menu – I spotted a variety of beers and wines, so that’s cool. Just keep in mind, some customers suggested the service has…well, moments of inconsistency.
